All of our employees wear a multitude of hats in order to keep
the work progressing at the Age of Steam Roundhouse,
including boiler-making, pipe-fitting, sheet metal fabrication,
welding, electrical, painting, etc. All of the AoS diesel repairs
are handled by them, as well.
Timothy Sposato
Timothy J. Sposato started in the railroad industry after
high school, and has worked for several railroads and steam
operations before hiring-on 1988 when the OCRS steam
program first began.
Tim is the Chief Mechanical Officer for AoS, and is FRA-
certified as a diesel/steam locomotive engineer, fireman
and conductor.
Bill Hanslik2
Bill Hanslik - volunteered for many years at the Midwest
Railway Preservation Society at the Cleveland Roundhouse
with ex GTW 2-8-2, locomotive #4070.
After high school, Bill worked briefly doing general maintenance
for a tourist railway before pursuing a career as a mechanic
in the material handling and heavy-duty trucking industries.
In 2004, Bill started to volunteer with Jerry's Ohio Central
Railroad Steam program and was a dedicated worker at Morgan
Run Shop and the new AOS Facility.
AOS hired Bill as a mechanic to assist
in locomotive and equipment repair, using his broad knowledge
of mechanical maintenance in many areas. He also possesses
the skill for equipment repainting and lettering.
Greg Miller
Greg R. Miller hired-on with the Ohio Central Railroad System
in 2001 as a maintenance-of-way employee where he operated
many types of on-rail track equipment for the replacement
of rails and ties.
Greg was instrumental in the construction and maintenance
of the rail yard, turntable trackage and turnouts here at AoS,
and works as a mechanic for our rail equipment repairs.
Allen Layman
Alan Layman is from nearby New Philadelphia, Ohio. He
enlisted in the U.S. Army right out of high school, and
worked with computers and communications.
After being discharged Alan was hired by the Age of Steam
Roundhouse to work as a general mechanic.
In order to increase his skills for the big job of repairing
railroad rolling stock, Alan is currently attending welding
school during the evening.
